The Arc of Indiana County offers various opportunities throughout the year to individuals with disabilities to promote health and wellness.
Such opportunities are:
Spirit of Food – The Arc of Indiana County hosts multiple Spirit of Food Cooking classes for individuals with disabilities throughout the year. These classes are taught by a local cook/chef that teaches kitchen & food safety as well as how to cook up to 3 recipes. Each participant receives a box with all the ingredients for the recipes to take home and make for themselves. Stay tuned for possible future classes!
Vaccine Clinics – Throughout 2022, the Arc hosted multiple COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics partnering with Mainline Pharmacy out of Blairsville. The Arc is dedicated to the well-being of our disability community and beyond. We provide a sensory-safe, barrier-free, and easily accessible location for individuals to get vaccinated. We also are offering free COVID-19 Test kits to the community while supplies last. Contact the office to find out more.
Dental Clinics – Partnering with Golden Onsite Dental from Pittsburgh, a mobile dental service, at the Arc for dental exams, cleanings, fluoride varnish, Treatment options if needed, including a referral to a local dental provider, and Parent education and hands-on learning for families. They accept any insurance. This is a sensory-safe, barrier-free, and easily accessible location. Childcare will be provided with verified volunteers with background checks. Check out the flyer for upcoming dates.
Produce Distribution – During COVID-19, the disability community struggled with food disparities. The Arc decided to tackle this problem and provide each family with a box(es) of produce to help them in a time of need, free of charge. With Contact-free pickup, this provided the community with a safe way to get basic groceries.
